Materials
Teak & rope, shaped by hand.
Two materials, one craft. Chosen for their nobility and their endurance over time, worked by hand in our workshops in Indonesia.
Solid teak
Every piece begins with solid teak. Grade A comes from the heart of the tree, the densest part, richest in natural oils. Thanks to this oleoresin running through its fibres, teak is naturally rot-resistant: it stands up to rain, changes in temperature, humidity and sea spray, and defends itself against fungi and insects.
Reclaimed teak
Salvaged from old structures, it extends the life of a precious wood. Deep grain, dark patina, knots and cracks: it keeps the trace of what it once was. The Cocon and Arang ranges are made from it.
Olefin rope and fabrics
For woven seats, strapping and cushions, we have chosen premium Sunproof olefin rope and fabrics. Solution-dyed, this high-performance yarn resists UV, water and abrasion without fading. Our pieces favour the Woolacombe and La Concha fabrics, from a wide choice of weaves and colours.
Teak is alive
Fine surface cracks may appear: they are the sign of a solid wood that breathes, not of a weakness. Left untreated, teak takes on a silver-grey patina; fed with a suitable oil, it keeps its golden tone. Care steps are on the Delivery & terms page.
