Bakau

A stump of roots carved from a single block.

Bakau rests on a stump of branching roots, carved from a single block of teak root. On top, a raw wood slab keeps its irregular edges, just as the material gave them. Each console is therefore unique: a raw, sculptural piece to bring life to an entrance hall or a bare wall.

Frequently asked questions

Can Bakau go outdoors?

No, Bakau is made for indoors. In an enclosed veranda it is in its element; for a terrace or a garden, choose a piece marked « Indoor & outdoor ».

How do I care for Bakau?

Left untreated, teak weathers to a silver-grey patina; fed with a suitable oil, it keeps its golden tone. Fine surface cracks may appear: they are the sign of a solid wood that breathes. Care instructions

How long does delivery of Bakau take?

In stock, the piece ships within 48 hours of payment: allow about 8 days in Gironde and 15 days in mainland France. Made to order or bespoke, it generally takes 16 weeks; the exact lead time is on the quote. Delivery and terms

Is Bakau available made to measure?

On quote: a size, a finish, a rope or fabric colour. Bespoke pieces are shaped by hand in Java; allow generally 16 weeks.

Where can I see Bakau?

At the showroom in La Teste-de-Buch, on Arcachon Bay. Not the whole collection is on display at once: call us to check whether Bakau is there. Otherwise, the simulator places the piece in your home from a single photo. The showroom
