Furnishing a rental on Cap Ferret

Guests who come and go, listing photos that decide everything: the teak furniture that stands up to a whole season of holiday lets on Cap Ferret.

A house let by the week goes through in one summer what a family home goes through in several years: guests who come and go, sand brought back from the beach, chairs dragged across the terrace, cushions left out in a downpour. The furniture has to keep up with that pace, and it also has to look good in the listing photos, which are what win the booking.

What stands up to successive guests

Solid teak outdoors. It does not rot, and it takes rain, salt and swings in temperature. It turns grey in the sun, but that is a patina, not wear: no guest will leave you with a damaged piece for forgetting to cover it.

Fewer cushions, or washable ones. They are what suffers most. Two routes: pieces that do without, such as the Satriya lounge set, made entirely of reclaimed teak slats, or the Zia and Huma chairs with their woven seats; or cushions with removable covers, washable at 30 °C between two stays.

Chairs that put away. The Elsa and Maria chairs, in solid teak, are stackable: keep six around the table and two in reserve for larger gatherings.

A central base under the table. A table such as Orenda150, 150 cm on a single base, seats six comfortably without a single knee knocking against a leg.

What shows in the photos

  1. The terrace facing the view. It is often the first photo. A complete outdoor lounge set, such as Puri with its three-seater sofa and lounge chairs, tells straight away how many people the house can welcome.
  2. One piece that catches the eye. A lounge chair with a large round back such as Surya, near a window, gives the image its focal point.
  3. A light palette. Light teak, ecru rope, ivory cushions: the photos stay bright, even on a grey day.
  4. Plenty of seats. Plan at least as many seats outside as there are beds: a guest counts the chairs in the photos.

The timing. Pieces in stock are dispatched within 48 hours of payment, and the indicative lead time is 8 days around Arcachon Bay. For a piece made to order, allow 16 weeks as a rule: plan it from the winter for a house ready in June. Terms reserved for professionals are in the trade area.

At the showroom in La Teste-de-Buch, Dominique helps you put together a whole house, from the terrace to the bedrooms.
